Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 4, 2026
Internet Physical Therapy is a service of Dr. Kareem F. Samhouri Fitness LLC (“Internet Physical Therapy,” “we,” “us” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains, in plain language, what personal information we collect through www.internetphysicaltherapy.com (the “site”), our emails and text messages, and our coaching, training and educational programs, and how we use and protect it.
Your health information has extra protection. We protect the health information from your physical therapy care to the standards of the federal HIPAA Privacy Rule. Our Notice of Privacy Practices explains how we use and disclose it and your rights. For that information, the Notice controls if it differs from this policy.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us:
- Waitlist. If we can’t see patients in your state yet and you join our waitlist, we collect your first name, email address and state.
- Messages. If you call, email or message us, we receive your contact details and what you tell us.
- Booking and payment. Appointments are booked and paid for on Jane, our secure patient portal. There you give your name, contact details, date of birth and payment card. Card numbers are handled by the payment processor; we never see or store full card numbers.
- Care. To provide physical therapy, we collect health information such as your history, symptoms, goals and visit notes. It is kept in Jane and protected as described in our Notice of Privacy Practices.
- Programs and purchases. If you buy a coaching session, workshop, course or membership, we collect what is needed to provide it: your name, email, purchase details and, for live sessions, what you share in them.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our web host and our security and delivery provider (Cloudflare) record technical details when you visit: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you open, and the date and time. We use this to run, secure and fix the site.
Cookies. The site uses only cookies it needs to work and stay secure, such as a cookie that protects our forms from misuse and security cookies set by Cloudflare. We do not place advertising cookies or tracking pixels on this site. If that ever changes, we will update this policy first, and we will never place them on pages where you share health information.
2. How we use information
- To answer your questions and requests.
- To provide our services: scheduling, video visits, your home program, coaching and educational programs.
- To take payments and give you receipts, including itemized receipts (superbills) when you ask for them.
- To send appointment reminders and other messages about your care or purchases.
- To tell you when physical therapy becomes available in your state, if you joined the waitlist.
- To send news and offers by email, only if you agreed. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- To keep the site secure, prevent fraud, and improve how it works.
- To meet our legal and professional obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.
We never use health information for marketing without your written authorization.
3. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising. We share it only:
- With service providers who work for us, under contracts that limit how they may use it: Jane (booking, payments, records, intake forms and video visits; Jane has agreed, in a HIPAA business associate agreement with us, to protect this information), any home exercise app we use for your program (only under a business associate agreement), our web host, Cloudflare, our email delivery provider, and the checkout or course platform used for programs.
- With our professional advisors, such as lawyers and accountants, when needed.
- When the law requires it, or to protect someone’s safety, our rights or the rights of others.
- If our business changes hands, such as in a merger or sale, in which case this policy continues to apply to your information.
- With your permission, for any other purpose.
4. Emails and text messages
Every marketing email includes a way to unsubscribe. If you give us a mobile number, Jane may send you texts about your appointments. We don’t send marketing texts. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop texts, or tell us any other way, and we will stop within 10 business days; reply HELP for help. We do not share mobile numbers or text-message consent with anyone for their own marketing.
5. How long we keep information
- Waitlist details: until you ask us to remove them, or until we close the waitlist.
- Medical records: for as long as the law of the state where you received care requires, which is several years after your last visit.
- Payment and tax records: as long as tax and accounting rules require.
- Technical logs: for a limited time, usually no more than a year.
6. How we protect information
The site uses encrypted connections (HTTPS). Waitlist names and email addresses are stored encrypted, and only authorized staff can see them. Health records are kept in Jane. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your own devices and passwords safe, and tell us right away if you think your information has been misused.
7. Your choices and rights
- Access, correction and deletion. Ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it. We may need to verify your identity. Some records, such as medical and tax records, must be kept by law.
- Health information. Your rights to your medical records are explained in our Notice of Privacy Practices.
- Unsubscribe. Use the link in any marketing email, reply STOP to a text, or just tell us.
- State privacy rights. If the law where you live gives you more privacy rights (for example in California or Washington), contact us and we will honor them as that law requires. We will not treat you differently for using them.
- Browser signals. We don’t track you across other websites. We treat a Global Privacy Control signal as a request not to sell or share your information, which we don’t do anyway.
8. Health information outside of physical therapy
Some health-related information isn’t covered by HIPAA, such as what you tell us when you join the waitlist or during coaching. We collect only what we need, use it only to provide what you asked for, never sell it, and share it only with the service providers described above.
9. Children
Our site and services are for adults 18 and older. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Other websites
Our site links to other services, such as Jane, TikTok and payment pages. Their own privacy policies apply when you use them.
11. Visitors outside the United States
We are based in the United States, and your information is processed and stored here. If the law where you live gives you additional rights over your information, contact us and we will respond as that law requires.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page with a new “Last updated” date, and if a change is significant we will tell you by email or with a notice on the site before it takes effect.
